The nose is the central feature of your face therefore the size and shape of it define the overall balance of your face. A small surgical alteration can have a massive impact on the overall appearance of your face and also your self-confidence, not to mention the costs over here in Thailand are about thirty to forty percent of the cost in Western countries and the surgeons we work with here at Lotus Medical International are extremely highly trained and experienced.
There are two main types of rhinoplasty that are performed by our surgeons. With one type of rhinoplasty a stent is placed in the nose to raise the bridge of the nose, this type of surgery is performed most often on Asian patients. Most Western people have what is called open rhinoplasty and with this type of surgery the size and shape of the nose is reduced or changed. This is done my manipulating the bone and cartilage within the nose. The nostrils can also be altered with the incisions are made in the natural crease of the nose.
After surgery a small stint or plaster will be placed on the nose for 7-10 days to help keep the desired shape and also to help protect it. You should expect swelling and bruising for the first few weeks and bleeding from the nose is not un-common also for the first few days. We advise you not to do any strenuous activity for at least 2-3 weeks and also no contact sports or similar activities for three months.
As with all types of surgeries there are risks involved, the complications can include an unexpected reaction to the anesthetic, bleeding, infection or clot formation, of course all of these risks are minimized by experienced surgical technique, specialist care and by using highly qualified surgeons and nursing stuff. You can also minimize the risk of complication yourself by ensuring you are in good general health before you have your surgery.
We here at Lotus Medical International are here to provide you with a stress free journey as possible, your safety is paramount to us and our surgeons so we can assure you that you will be in only the best hands for your nose job in Thailand.

A consultation with your surgeon will help you to decide exactly what changes you would like to be made to your nose. The alterations are normally made to the nose by accessing the nose internally. The bone and the cartilage can be manipulated to gain the desired shape. If the size of the nostrils needs to be altered then incisions are made in the natural creases of the nose. Surgery requires a general anaesthetic and an overnight stay and usually lasts for around 2 hrs.
A small plaster or splint will be placed on the nose for 7 – 10 days to help to keep it in the desired shape and to help to protect it. The nose and surrounding area will be swollen and bruised and it is not unusual for the nose to bleed a little in the first few days. If the nose is painful you will be prescribed painkillers.
Swelling and bruising may last for a few weeks and it is advisable to take two weeks off work. We advise that you do not fly for 10 days after surgery. You are advised against any strenuous activity for 2-3 weeks and no contact sports or similar activities for 3 months.
Rhinoplasty is one of the most commonly performed cosmetic procedures and generally is done without complications. All surgery however does carry an element of risk. Complications can include an unexpected reaction to the anaesthetic, bleeding, infection or clot formation. These risks are minimised by experienced surgical technique, specialist care and by using highly qualified surgeons and nursing staff.
The risks are also minimised by making sure that you are in good general health before your operation. Your consultation with your surgeon will give you advice on how best to achieve this as well as letting you know of any risks which may apply to you.
