Compression garments are needed after most cosmetic surgeries. When you have surgery fluid and swelling can build up at the site of surgery afterwards. Compression garments are therefore worn to help to reduce this fluid buildup as much as possible. Reducing the fluid build up not only makes your receiver easier but it is also needed to give you the best results.
When you have your surgery your surgeon will advise you on how long you should wear your compression garment for post-surgery. On average we postulate that this is usually for around six weeks post-surgery. The hospitals here do supply garments but they are often not stoked in all sizes and often the garments are made out of Nylon which can be hot and sticky in the humidity of Thailand. When you book your surgery we will therefore advise you on buying garments at home. For our Australian residents we will ask a local company to contact you and they will talk you through which garments you need and the sizing and costs and even send the garment out in the post to you. It is advise-able to have two of each garment so that you always have one to wear and one to wash.
Garments are relatively inexpensive to buy, the cost usually ranges between around $40 – $80. We highly advise beyond these as they will give you a better and more comfortable recovery after having your cosmetic surgery in Thailand.
