A receding chin can make the face look out of proportion and can really affect your self-confidence. Having a chin implant can build out a receding chin and can also give a stronger, more defined jaw line. A chin that ‘juts out’ can cause an imbalance in the face and can again be the source of frustration, this can be reduced to give the face better symmetry.
Chin augmentation can often be done in combination with other surgeries such as rhinoplasty or a face lift to make the face look more balanced or in proportion. Patients who have had Chin augmentation through us here at Lotus Medical International have found that the surgery has improved the overall balance of their face and has made a huge impact on their self-esteem and well-being.
During chin augmentation surgery, the surgeon will place an implant in the chin from inside the mouth or below the chin. Fine dissolvable sutures are then used to keep the implant in place. There should be no visible scarring as a result of the surgery. For chin reduction surgery, the bone is filed down to create a better shaped chin. Both surgeries can last between 1-2 hours and will require a general anesthetic and also a one night stay in hospital.
After your chin augmentation surgery in Thailand you might expect slight numbness for a few days in which during that time it might fee strange to eat, drink, talk and yawn. There may be some bruising and swelling which will subside 1-2 weeks after surgery and we recommend that you eat soft food during this time. Once you have arrived home you should be fine to return to work although you should not exercise for 2 weeks and you should avoid any facial contact for 6 weeks and also no contact sports for 3 months.
All surgeries can come with complications. These complications can include an unexpected reaction to the anesthetic, bleeding, infection or clot formation. We here at Lotus Medical International have minimized these risks by using experienced surgical technique, specialist care and by using highly qualified surgeons and nursing staff. You can to minimize these risks yourself by ensuring you are in good general health before your surgery.
Lotus Medical International have been providing world class surgery in Thailand for over 8 years, we are here to guide you through your surgical journey and ensure your time here with us is as stress free as possible.
