Face Lift Surgery in Thailand 3

We are finding that more and more people are deciding to come to have their Face Lift Surgery in Thailand. There are many benefits to having Face Lift in Thailand; reduced costs versus being at home, the exceptional experience that the Thailand surgeons have with Face Lift Surgery and not to be underestimated the ability to recover away from the stresses at home and prying eyes.

When having Face Lift in Thailand the surgeons can advise a variety of different options for you. Sometimes our Thailand surgeons advise just a Lower Face or Neck Lift but quite often Eyelid Surgery and Brow Lift can be advised as part of the overall procedure to give the best overall results. We can arrange what is called an online consultation for you so that our surgeons can assess your case and give you feedback on exactly which procedures are best for you.

Face Lift Surgery in Thailand 1

The costs for Face Lift in Thailand are very competitive versus other parts of the world; a Lower Face and Neck Lift in Thailand costs from around $8,000 and we have heard of clients being quoted in excess of $20,000 in Australia and America for these procedures.

After Face Lift Surgery the face can be quite swollen and even bruised. It usually just takes a few days for most of the bruising to disappear but it can take several weeks for the swelling to go down. Most of our surgeons ask that you will stay for fourteen days after your surgery for proper follow up and so that you can have all of your stitches removed before going home. One of the benefits if having your cosmetic surgery in Phuket is that during this recovery period you can afford the luxury of your hotel room where you can order room service, have someone else do your laundry and cleaning or even sit and relax by the pool. It makes for a much more pleasant recovery than being at home. Having cosmetic surgery in Phuket also means that you won’t be seen by people that you know during your recovery period which is often something that people are very grateful for.

What most Western people are not aware of is that there are two distinct types of Rhinoplasty surgery which are very different. One type is used more often in Western clients and this is often referred to as Open Rhinoplasty. The other type, known more often as Asian Rhinoplasty, is used primarily in Asian people. So what is the difference between these two different types of Rhinoplasty?

Western people generally have larger noses than their Asian counterparts. When Western people want to change their nose it is usually to change the shape or to refine the nose or to make the nose smaller. Our surgeons in Thailand generally use what is called open Rhinoplasty. During this technique the bones and cartilage within the nose are re-shapen to give the nose a more refined appearance.

Asian people quite often have smaller noses and quite often the bridge of the nose is very low. The type of Rhinoplasty therefore performed in Asian people involves placing a stent in the nose to raise the bridge of the nose. This stent is made of silicone.

Our surgeons in Thailand operate most often on Western clients, so unlike other surgeons in Thailand they have a vast amount of experience at the Western type of Rhinoplasty. One of the things that you should consider when wanting to have Rhinoplasty in Thailand is how much experience the Thailand surgeon has with performing the Western type of Rhinoplasty.

Open Rhinoplasty is a much more complicated surgery than the Asian style of Rhinoplasty. Open Rhinoplasty usually lasts between 2 to 3 hours and is always performed under a general anesthetic. During open Rhinoplasty the bone and the cartilage within the nose have to be very carefully manipulated by the surgeon and this type of surgery should only ever be done by a surgeon that specialises in Rhinoplasty. With Asian Rhinoplasty, this takes about an hour and it is done with a local anesthetic and is a very simple procedure. We recommend therefore that if you are deciding to have Rhinoplasty in Thailand that you make sure that your surgeon is someone who is well trained in the Western type of open Rhinoplasty that you need.

Phuket for cosmetic surgery

Thousands of medical travelers make their way to Thailand and to Phuket each year, so why are so many people opting to have Cosmetic surgery in Phuket?  Obviously one of the main reasons that people wish to travel to Thailand for surgery is because of the huge cost savings of having plastic surgery in Phuket or Thailand versus the costs at home.  But have you ever stopped to think about the other benefits?  A few years ago more people tended to go to Bangkok for surgery but the tables have turned and more and more people are now travelling to Phuket for cosmetic surgery.

Cosmetic surgery is available throughout many cities in Thailand but most people nowadays are choosing to have Phuket Surgery, what is the reason for this?  Well there are many reasons; the plastic surgeons in Phuket are among the best in Thailand and the most experienced at dealing with international clients.  Therefore they also have the most experience at Western type surgeries versus performing surgery on Asian patients as there can be many differences especially with surgeries such as Rhinoplasty of which there is a very distinct Western and Asian type.

So what are the other reasons that people are choosing Phuket Surgery?  Having plastic surgery in Phuket also means that you have a perfect tropical island environment in which to rest and recover.  When having surgery at home you still have daily stresses to deal with during your recovery, who is going to do the washing, cooking, cleaning and school runs? When you come to Thailand you can completely kick back and relax.  Instead of having to deal with day to day tasks at home you can sit by the pool, call room service and rely on the hotel staff to clean your room and do your laundry.  There simply is no better place than Phuket for plastic surgery and for the perfect recovery.

Why not let Lotus Medical organise a full Thailand surgery package for you?  We can arrange a package to include your surgery, transfers, accommodation, medical host and mobile phone. This means that when you are having cosmetic surgery in Phuket you can be assured of one of the best hotels, you can also rely on the fact that you will be fully supported during your trip and that you always have someone that you can contact if you have any questions.

When children think of the beach they think of freedom and fun. Adults, on the other hand have a different perspective. For most of us, there’s the dreaded search for the perfect swimming costume and summery clothing that will show off our best features whilst hiding our worst. Then there’s the actual moment of arriving at the beach and having to remove some of the summery clothing in order to blend in with other sun revelers. Even shorts and tank tops can present a problem, since they seem to be designed to accentuate every single bulge.  This is where plastic surgeons in Thailand can help.

But all is not lost and the battle of bulge finally has a decent opponent…

Lotus Medical’s team of plastic surgeons in Thailand offer a variety of body contouring procedures which in conjunction with a continuing commitment to a healthy lifestyle, that includes good nutrition and adequate exercise, can mean that you are finally able to enjoy the surf and sand.

Liposuction is a good example, for instance. This is a simple and non-evasive procedure and you can usually expect to resume regular daily activities within a week, returning to your normal exercise regimen in three weeks, when 80-85% percent of the swelling has decreased. By the fourth month, all swelling should be gone. Since liposuction uses only small incisions (just large enough to insert the fat-removing tube called a cannula) the scarring is minimal. Liposuction can remove fat reservoirs in hard-to-lose places such as the abdomen, hips and thighs. The firmer and more elastic your skin, the better your liposuction results will be.

Hanging skin will not reshape itself to your new contours after liposuction, so in these cases that skin might have to be surgically removed. A tummy tuck (the nickname for abdominoplasty) removes fat and skin from the middle and lower abdomen. It also tightens the abdominal wall muscles. The results can be dramatic, especially in the case of a severely protruding abdomen. Scarring will occur, but due to the location of the surgery, bathing suits and underwear cover the scars. A tummy tuck is best suited for women and men who are in decent overall shape, but are frustrated by fat deposits or lose skin that just won’t decrease after regular diet or exercise.

Now, thanks to companies like Lotus Medical International and the best plastic surgeons in Thailand, we can offer these life changing procedures affordably and you get a much deserved holiday at the same time. Not only can more people now afford to look better, they can’t afford not to, especially in today’s society where the focus is on looking and acting young.

Lotus Medical is proud to provide customized care to all our clients. We acknowledges that the initial stages when choosing or not to proceed with surgery are daunting but we are there to take you through the whole experience step by step, from the first enquiry to after the surgery when you are back at home. For more information on a customized body contouring procedure or any other aesthetic procedure please contact [email protected] and one of our consultants would be happy to assist you.

I have encountered a lot of girls who have had breast surgery in Thailand.  Of course all of them were so happy and excited  after their surgery. I will definitely feel the same way once I have mine! I just can’t wait to finally say goodbye to push up bras! After that, I can wear my bikini, low cut shirts, and tube dresses with confidence.  After all the struggling of pulling the muscle up, for me to have a nice, “Full” front once and for all, free from insecurities.  That will be me once I get my breast surgery in Thailand.

It’s so wonderful to see women having confidence after the surgery, and sometimes I have to stop them from being too excited. I am not being a buzz kill, but I am just a responsible Medical Host; trying to avoid any inconveniences that may occur if our client will not follow the post operative care advised by their surgeon and by Lotus Medical.

Ladies who were really prepared for the surgery and had the proper expectations were usually the ones recovering faster. So quickly that the next day they will ask me if they can have elephant trekking, go to the beach or have cocktails, or even go shopping and I am shaking my head, “No”.

Phuket, Thailand is undeniably a place that is so hard to resist. Beaches, elephants, mountains, paradise resorts, malls, night markets, and a crazy night life parties. These are really irresistible and sometimes patients need to be reminded on what the purpose of their travel was. We still would want you to enjoy your stay in Phuket, with proper planning for your health & safety in mind, remember that this place will always be here, and you can come back anytime you want for something… an adventure or party vacation. However, your new boobies will go somewhere called the, “The Operating Room” again, if you don’t comply with the Do’s and Don’ts during the first days after surgery.

I will only point out some important details and I will try not to sound like a professor explaining an algebraic equation!

  1. Follow the prescribed medications.  Anti-inflammatory is a MUST. Anti-biotic medication is also a MUST. Pain reliever should be AS NEEDED! The strong pain reliever will make you feel a bit sick and moody.
  2. Avoid lifting, pushing and pulling.   Let your body heal from the incision/stitches. Let your chest muscles adjust with the new implant and new weight. Avoid excessive use of your arms and chest area, as it may cause irritation, swelling and bleeding. Ouch!
  3. Wear a support surgical garment around the clock; always. I know, wearing the granny looking bra is not appealing but, a saggy breast (because you failed to support your chest muscles, because, “Oh, I don’t like wearing that bra, it’s uncomfortable!”)  is also not appealing.
  4. Do Not Drink Alcohol. Alcohol may diminish the effect of antibiotics in your body and that’s a FACT. Also, Alcohol can make, if not all, most women, the best cheerleader for the night. Now you’re smiling. I know that “I’ll only drink cocktails” will definitely lead to more mojitos, vodka, long island iced teas, and next thing you know you’re dancing unstoppably then you’ll drink more, because the party ain’t over, which will lead you to altered state of mind, altered balance and then KABOOM!  You fell off and forgot you just had a surgery.. “OUCH! OMG there’s a blood! Bring me to the ER!” That has happened.
  5. Sleep on your back. For those who got used to sleeping on their stomach: THIS IS ONLY TEMPORARY and not forever. You should sleep on your back with your head elevated for the first 1-2 weeks after surgery to reduce your discomfort and swelling. After 3-4 weeks, you may try to sleep on your side as comfort allows. Progress sleeping on your abdomen as comfort allows as well. Be sure to discuss this with your surgeon as they may proceed at a different pace. Always remember that the first few weeks are very important to sleep on your back- to prevent deformation of the implant and the drooping appearance of the breast
  6. Avoid Sun bathing. I know that Phuket means Beach and I know that it is really enticing. But after the surgery, your chest region and breast skin are highly susceptible to sunburn or the formation of irregular, darkened pigmentation. Do you want your breast skin to be the darkest part of your body? Think twice.
  7. No to Bouncing, Moving  up and down (breast.) This includes elephant trekking, speed boat, parasailing etc. Again, do not engage in activities that cause your breasts to bounce or move up and down as this can cause excess stretching of the skin. Anyone want stretch marks?

And last but not the least..

  1. Rest, but not bed rest. We don’t want you to have a bed sore. Rest is important in the early stages of healing. Walking after surgery is one of the most important things you can do after having a procedure. It may seem like a simple thing, but a quick walk every hour or two can help prevent serious complications like deep vein thrombosis and pneumonia. It can also help prevent one very common and annoying side effect of anesthesia: CONSTIPATION. Walking is a gentle way to return to physical activity and can help promote a return to regular activities.

Having your breast surgery in Thailand is undoubtedly the best option. Aside from choosing the best hospital and the best surgeon to have a successful surgery, what is more important is your safe health compliance after you are out of the theater (Operating Room). That matters most.

Sex-reassignment-surgery.jpg

Sex reassignment surgery

I love the movies Freaky Friday, 13 going 30, She’s the Man, Mrs. Doubtfire, etc. They’re all about gender or role or sex reassignment films with no surgery done. More of a magical or funny transformation. As a kid, I always fancied how it feels like to be in someone else’s body. That would be an adventure- to be someone else and hit the UNDO button once you’re tired with the role you’re playing or ask the fairy or the magician to bring you back to your old form- Abrakadabra! I am back!

But what if you have been trapped into someone’s body?  A body that you don’t like or wish you never had and there’s no UNDO button or no fairy that would help you end the spell given by a witch. That would be a struggle. Playing the role you never like is not an easy deal. What could be more frustrated than having the gender identity, expression or behavior which different from the assigned sex at birth? Gender identity is your internal sense of whether you are male or female. When you are transgender, this feeling doesn’t match your actual sex. Your body is male or female, but inside you feel you are really the opposite sex. You feel “trapped” in the wrong body. Since magic, fairies and witch are all fantasies, the only possible solution to end the “spell” is a sex reassignment surgery- to make the body match how he or she feels inside.

Public awareness is on the rise for sex reassignment surgery and I am extremely happy about it. For long years,  many transgender and gender-variant people experienced stigmatization and discrimination as a result of living in a gendered culture into which they often do not easily fit. They did not only experience an inner sense of not belonging but also discrimination, harassment, sometimes lethal violence and denial of basic human rights. Stress is a fact of life. Most of us have periods of stress at various times in our lives. But extra stress can have a serious effect on your health, especially if it lasts for a long time.  I never stopped hoping for  equality and acceptance for the transgender people. Gender freedom – isn’t that what we’re all fighting for with every breath we take? Well, how are we going to win it if we don’t support each other’s right to be different from us? Each person has the right to express their gender in any way that feels most comfortable.

Phuket cosmetic surgery

Cosmetic surgery is an elective operation that alters or enhances a part of your face or body that you want to change.  It has only recently become acceptable and popular.  It has taken a while for people to become comfortable with this type of surgery.

When I first heard about Phuket Cosmetic Surgery all I knew about it was that TV personalities were trying to delay the effects of aging, or models who wanted to change the size of their stomach, breasts, or other body parts because they see it done so easily on TV. Women who wanted to have lips like Angelina Jolie or breasts like Pamela Anderson were what I came to associate with Cosmetic Surgery.  There is no physical or medical reason to have the procedure; it is a lifestyle choice for many people.  Vanity – excessive pride in or admiration of one’s own appearance or achievements was the common image of Cosmetic Surgery.  That was my opinion 10 years ago.  I’m guilty.  I am sure there are still a lot of people out there who still share that same opinion that I did in the past.

But what about a 30-year old woman who has never been confident and always hiding what’s under her bra because her breasts were irregular?

One is B-cup, and the other is D-cup, and one is higher than the other. Take for example, a male athlete who has a broken nose and chin and needed it to be fixed, or people with abnormal structures of the body caused by birth defects, developmental abnormalities, trauma, infection, tumors, or disease.  Would they be considered vain if they have reconstructive cosmetic surgery to correct the defects on the face or body?  Would people still consider it vain when someone just wanted to feel normal and be accepted by everyone without being the laughing stock?

Phuket cosmetic surgery taught me a lot of things.  I have handled a lot of clients and listened to their stories.  Whether the purpose is vanity or reconstructive, it all boils down to an altered self-esteem, troubled by their appearance.  We know that if they can’t solve this problem, it can contribute to depression or low self-esteem.  Who am I to judge them based on their individual reasoning?  I was wrong for originally thinking that it was vanity which made them decide to have a surgery.  No one is born perfect; we all have that part of our body that we never like.  Everyone wants to be desirable, presentable, confident, and satisfied with our appearance.  Who wants to have an altered self-esteem when we all know that it is how we value ourselves; it is how we perceive our value to the world and how valuable we think we are to others.  Self-esteem affects our trust in others, our relationships, our work-nearly every part of our lives.  Positive self-esteem gives us the strength and flexibility to take charge of our lives and grow without the fear of rejection.

Regardless of the client’s reason for having the surgery, the surgeons here in Phuket will make sure that procedures are fully explained, and will give you a choice as to what they think is best for your situation. I appreciate the fact that surgeons are honest and would tell directly what they know is right, based on their extensive experience in the field. They are considered the best for a reason, and that reason, in my opinion, is their ability to determine what the best course of action is, based on the desires of the client, and coming up with great solutions for some of the most common problems associated with the complex cosmetic surgeries.
